Hudson Marker receives the Student of the Month certificate from President of the Rotary Club of Castle Rock, Judson Mitchell. Also at the presentation were Castle View High School Principal James Calhoun, left and Marker’s mother Michelle.

Hudsen Marker has been chosen as Student of the Month for November by the Rotary Club of Castle Rock.
Marker, a senior at Castle View High School, was introduced at the Dec. 19 meeting of the club.
Principal of Castle View, James Calhoun, said Marker was an outstanding leader in the school. He has lettered in three sports and has earned 11 letters in varsity sports.
Calhoun said Marker’s teachers describe him as caring to his peers and one who offers help to others.
He was cited for his leadership on the field and in the classroom and one who pitches in to help to do a lot of the work in places such as the weight room.
He was described as one who is looked up to but always looks up to others.
Calhoun said Marker displayed his caring this past year when his good friend and a wrestling teammate broke his neck and was paralyzed. “Hudson stood by him to make his life easier,” Calhoun said.
He said that Marker was key in developing the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
Marker told the club he plans to attend either Wyoming or Montana State University and study agricultural business.
