Casey McLeod accepts the Rotary Student of the Month plaque from Rotary Club President Jerry Lionetti. Also present were Rex Corr, principal of Castle View High School and McLeod’s mother Cheryl, father Tim and brother Tyler.
Casey McLeod has been named Student of the Month for December by the Rotary Club of Castle Rock.
McLeod, a senior at Castle View High School, has been very active in her school and the community. She is a highly accomplished student and currently ranks number one in her class of 476.
She has won numerous awards at school in academics, sports and student involvement, including a four-year academic letter, honors as a swim team member and record holder in several events, and state honors in swimming.
As a community volunteer she has worked several years for Sky Ridge Medical Center, at her church, a local elementary school and at Castle View High School.
Castle View Principal Rex Corr said McLeod’s time at the school has been a great benefit to the school and the community. Her excellent academic achievements, she has taken seven advanced placement classes, and her contribution to the school through her participation in student government, in the National Honor Society, and her leadership on a student advisory group has made Castle View a better school, Corr said.  McLeod has also benefitted the community through her many volunteer activities, Corr said.
McLeod told Rotarians she hopes to pursue a career in the medical field and has applied to several schools that would give her the background she needs and that will allow her to continue her competitive swimming
