Madison Dietrich accepts the Student of the Month certificate from the Rotary Club of Castle Rock. With her were Castle View High School Principal James Calhoun, left, her brother and mother Stephanie and President of the club Gordon Allott.

Madison Dietrich, senior at Castle View High School, was named Student of the Month for March by the Rotary Club of Castle Rock.

Dietrich carries a 4.02 grade point average, is involved in several school activities and has been awarded honors as the CVHS business student, received letters in academics, and has been nominated for CVHS Math Student of the year.

Principal James Calhoun introduced Dietrich to the club and said she has received only one B in her entire school career. He said Dietrich’s teachers describe her as an outstanding student who contributes consistently in class. She also was called by one of her teachers the best writer in the class. Others said she goes above and beyond to excel in school. In one case, Dietrich stepped up without prompting to take over the DECCA club when a leadership vacuum existed.

During her school career, she has been in 11 different clubs, taking leadership roles in the National Honor Society and DECCA. She also is a competitive runner and has worked in the school store.

Dietrich is also working on her private pilot’s license and was planning to take her solo flight soon.

Dietrich told the club she wants to attend Embry-Riddle University, which she called the Harvard of aviation schools.
