Colleen McFadden and Carolyn Walker discussed the Creston J. Walker Foundation, established to provide educational and financial support for families of children with cancer Mark Williams and Angela Copeland from the Castle Rock Downtown Development Association accepting banners from Ken Konkel after their presentation of the activities, goals and methods of the DDA. Mark McIntosh, the Comeback Coach, spoke on four critical “Things Have Changed” strategies that inspire and encourage companies, organizations and teams to effectively deal with change, challenge and adversity. Francis Dixon, President & Founder, spoke to our club regarding Adopt a Village in Guatemala, a small grass roots organization with the stated purpose of providing aid to impoverished Mayan families in northwestern Guatemala through programs for education, orphans, scholarships and much more. Jim Boyd, Rotarian with the Parker Rotary Club, presented the concept of club visioning and will be one of the District 5450 training facilitators.
CAROLE MURRAY Colorado State Representative, District 45, and also a Rotary Club of Castle Rock member, speaks to the club on legislative issue in Colorado. Frank Sargent speaks to the club on Polio Eradication and Rotary International's $200M commitment by June 2012 in consideration for Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation $350M pledge. District Governor, Mike Oldham spoke to our club on this year's Rotary theme, Tracy Houston speaks on corporate and non-profit board health issues Tom Wolf speaks on the Rotary Foundation
Bill Forstad, Denver Rotary Club, spoke about the Burkina-Faso project, in which our club participated, which drilled five water wells in the small African country for a cost of ~$61,000. Forstad wants to expand the project to include more wells, latrines, schools and garden plots. Melinda Kennedy describes her experience visiting Japan and interfacing with tezachers and students in their school structure. Candis Kloverstrom speaks on the need for creating personalized image and messaging for companies in order to create effective differentiation Isla Schanuel is a past recipient of the Rotary Club of Castle Rock Arthur N. Brewer Scholarship.  She is a student at CU as well as working 2 jobs.  Her studies include a biology major with business and computer minors.  Isla's goal is to wire the world through the internet.
Mike Phipps delivers classification speech on his role as Elizabeth Chief of Police Abby Hoffman, Community Relationship Manager with the Amercian Cancer Society speaks about the focus and direction of the ACS in support of our community. Carolyn Schrader speaks on Zimbabwe and the 3H Rotary Grant she put together with Rotarians from District 9210 in Harare and District 5450 in Colorado. Susan Green with the Douglas-Elbert County Task Force recently visited the Rotary Club of Castle Rock and discussed the ever increasing needs of the community and the services that the Task Force has provided to nearly 13,000 needy people in 2007. Barbara Detrick and Brock Coltrain, students at Castle View High School and members of Interact, discuss their homecoming fund raiser and their need for volunteers for their Fall Festival in Larkspur on November 1, 2008
