The Rotary duck wanders the street fair saying hi to everyone.
Thousands lined the banks of Plum Creek to watch the launch of the ducks at the start of the Derby.
The Ducky Derby mascot, has been very busy spreading the word for the big race coming up on
May 14th at Festival Park in downtown Castle Rock. In early April 2010, Derby Duck received a proclamation from the Mayor declaring May as Castle Rock's offical Ducky Derby month.

Shown above with Big Duck is Suzanne Greene, Executive Director of the Douglas Elbert Task Force and Rudolpho, manager of the food bank.

Big duck visited the Douglas Elbert Task Force on May 7th to help stock shelves with donated food from the community. The Task Force is in the process of moving into it's new location on Park Street. The Task Force, a big beneficiary of the proceeds of the Ducky Derby, provides food and other types of assistance to needy families and individuals in our communities.

During the recent April snow storm that engulfed Castle Rock, Derby Duck could not take a snow day and rest. Rather, word about this major community event needed to reach thousands of familes in the Castle Rock and surrounding areas. The only mode of transportation at the time was a pair of skis to get a round. Derby duck had a little trouble getting the webbed feet into the binding, but in the end the mission was accomplished!!!
The Douglas County Library Dog and the Castle Rock Rotary Duck have always been good friends. Dog has asked Duck to come and visit the Library and the Duck agreed. Come and join Duck and Dog!!
